How to determine if the laser tube needs to be replaced?

To determine whether the laser tube needs to be replaced, the following aspects can be considered:

1、 Change in output power

Power reduction: After prolonged use, the output power of the laser tube will gradually decrease. When it is found that the output power of the laser equipment has significantly weakened and cannot meet the normal working requirements, replacement of the laser tube should be considered.

Unstable power: If the output power of the laser tube becomes unstable, fluctuating between high and low, it may also be a sign of aging of the laser tube and needs to be replaced.

2、 Appearance and color of laser tube

Color change: Normal laser tubes usually have a slight purple tint. If the color of the laser tube turns white during use, it may indicate a decrease in the cutting speed of the laser tube. Even if it can be cut, there may still be unstable light output, and replacement of the laser tube should be considered.

Appearance wear: If the electrode tips at both ends of the laser tube are worn or oxidized, it may also affect the performance of the laser tube and need to be replaced.

3、 Spot quality

Spot shape: Observe the shape of the spot through a point laser tube. If the light spot is hollow or in a figure eight shape, it indicates that the power of the laser tube has decreased and needs to be replaced. If the light spot is solid and has a regular shape, the quality of the laser tube is good and can continue to be used.

Spot mode: Point laser on thick acrylic sheets and other materials to observe the state of the spot. If the bottom of the light spot is not sharp but flat, it indicates that the power of the laser tube is insufficient, and the pattern of the light spot has changed and needs to be replaced.

4、 Equipment performance

Cutting effect: If the cutting effect of the laser cutting machine deteriorates, such as rough cutting surface, slower cutting speed, etc., after excluding other factors (such as lens contamination, improper adjustment of the light path, etc.), the laser tube should be considered for replacement.

Equipment failure: When the laser equipment has faults such as no laser beam emission or weak laser beam, and other components are normal, replacement of the laser tube should be considered.

5、 Usage time

The service life of laser tubes is generally several thousand hours. If the usage time of the laser tube has exceeded its recommended lifespan, even if its current performance is still acceptable, replacement should be considered to avoid possible future failures.

In summary, determining whether the laser tube needs to be replaced requires comprehensive consideration of multiple factors. When replacing the laser tube, a laser tube of the same quality or higher performance as the original laser tube should be selected to ensure the normal operation and cutting effect of the equipment. At the same time, after replacing the laser tube, a series of debugging, calibration, and cleaning work need to be carried out to ensure the normal operation of the entire system.
